Los Cabos, Mexico – Site Inspection Report, November 25, 2014

Trip Date:  November 20-23, 2014

Below is a quick update report from our Agent, Alex Mikos who just returned from Cabo San Lucas.  Alex’s main purpose was to check out the entire area after the devastating Hurricane Odile, just two months ago.  We feel it is important to see the damage and rebuilding first hand, not only for our staff, but for you, our clients.  Paul Klein Travel is in constant contact with all the major hotels in this extremely popular vacation area.  This allows us to share our knowledge with our clients as progress and rebuilding are under way.

We have purposefully kept this report short and sweet.  If you need further details, please contact our office at 312-782-5343 so we can provide you with a more in-depth report.

Airport:  Up and running, no issues and no delays due to hurricane.

Transportation:  Taxi service readily available as well as private car service.

Main Arteries (Roads):  Surprisingly in good shape and repaired.  Very impressed with the cleanup.

Hotels Not Open:  Hotels on the main Corridor are all under repair and reconstruction and most likely opening in March 2015, namely:  Palmilla, Las Ventanas, Esparanza, Dreams, Westin, Hyatt, and Hilton

Hotels Open for business now:  Hacienda, Finisterra,

Marina:  The main Marina is up and running.  Fishing boats and catamaran charters are ready for business.  Most restaurants surrounding the marina are open for business.

Restaurants:  Ediths, The Office and Cabo Wabo Cantina are open for business.   Many local restaurants are open and doing well, although many of the most well-known restaurants were part of the Hotels closed for reconstruction.  Although, plenty of great restaurants to choose from.

Water Sports:  Fishing, Snorkeling, and whale watching is all back to normal.

Overall View:  It’s very clean, if you can look past some construction on the Hotel repairs.  There are many missing palm trees, but they don’t create an eyesore.

Spring Break:  It is assumed that 90% of the Hotels and Restaurants will be open and ready for business in time for Spring Break 2015.
